Dr. Heather Bleecker has 19 years of experience in education. She joined the SKC faculty in September of 2018 and previously served as an instructor and program director in the Mathematics Department and Division of Education.

Heather taught high school mathematics in Long Beach, California and Polson, Montana. She holds a National Board Certification in Adolescent and Young Adulthood Mathematics and is an HP Prime Ambassador. Heather has served as an adjunct professor for the University of South Dakota.

Heather was a research associate and project manager at the University of Michigan for an NSF grant studying geometry instruction at the undergraduate level for instructors preparing future secondary mathematics teachers. Her research interests include studying mathematics teachers’ perceptions of teaching competencies.

Dr. Bleecker was the recipient of the 2021 William A. Stannard Award from Montana State University for Excellence in College Mathematics Instruction. She currently works to support both Early Childhood Education students and educators with their higher education pathways, and provides academic and other support to all education students in the Division.
