Terry Souhrada is currently the head of Secondary Math Education Department at Salish Kootenai College. Terry joined the Salish Kootenai College faculty in October of 2013. Dr. Souhrada brings over 40 years of experience in mathematics education to the position.
During his professional career, he taught mathematics in public and private middle schools and high schools in Ronan, Polson, Bigfork, and Missoula. Dr. Souhrada was the head writer for the SIMMS Integrated Mathematics Project that produced textbooks for an entire high school mathematics curriculum. Terry also taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Montana in both the Department of Mathematics and the School of Education. He left his tenured math teaching position at Spokane Falls Community College to join the Salish Kootenai College faculty.
Dr. Souhrada is currently in charge of designing and implementing the curricula for an Associate of Science degree in Mathematical Science (a two-year transfer degree program) and a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education: Mathematics degree (a four-year mathematics education degree leading to licensure in grades 5-12) offered through Salish Kootenai College. Terry serves an instructor in both the Mathematics Department and the Division of Education.
